Detailed itinerary

Day 1 Airport Pick Up, Summer Palace, Beijing Zoo

Welcome to Beijing, your private guide and driver will be waiting for you upon your arrival. Please look for the sign with your name written on.

The first activity would depend on the timing of your flight. If you arrive in the morning, you will start the tour directly. The first destination today is the Summer Palace, where you can appreciate the leading classical garden with picturesque landscape in typical Chinese architectural style.

Your next destination will be the Beijing Zoo. It’s the oldest zoo in China and a zoo housing rich animal species, including the giant pandas, crested ibis, golden monkeys and more. You will have a close contact with those cute animals.

After the tour, your guide and driver will take you to hotel and leave you free. If you arrive in Beijing at noon, your guide will help you to check in the hotel and lead you to lunch before engaging you in the tour.

Day 2 Mutianyu Great Wall, Bird's Nest and Water Cube

As Mutianyu Great Wall is a bit far from the city, it’s better you start early at 7:30 when your guide and driver will be ready at your hotel lobby. Although there are several sections of Great Wall available for public, the Mutianyu Great Wall is the less crowded section with amazing scenery. What’s more interesting is that you can take the cable car to get to the top of the wall and get down by the thrilling toboggan car.

On your way back to the Beijing city, you will pass by the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, the site of 2008 Beijing Olympics. It’s not allowed to go inside. Therefore, you can only take some photos.

At the end of the tour, you will be escorted back to hotel.

    Great Wall    Water Cube

Day 3 Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Beijing Hutongs, Airport Drop Off

Your last day will be spent mostly within the city. Firstly, let’s pay a visit to the Tian’anmen Square, the largest city square in the world. Built in 1417, the Tian’anmen Square served as an important gate for the Forbidden City in old times. During the modern times, the square has witnessed a lot of historical events that like the Tian’anmen Incident and May Fourth Movement. Nowadays, it’s rather a place of memory than a sight. Passing by the Tian’anmen Square, you will head for the Forbidden City, one of the largest as well as the best-preserved imperial palaces in the world. Completed in 1420, the palace had housed 24 emperors and royal members of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Inside the palace, there are 9999 rooms and each has its own functions and owner. It’s would be a great place to understand the history and story of Ming and Qing imperial lives.

The morning tour comes to an end by now and your guide will take you to a nice local restaurant for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will proceed to the Temple of Heaven and the Hutongs. Constructed between 1406 and 1420 during the reign of Ming Emperor Yongle, the Temple of Heaven served as a place where the emperors offer sacrifices to the heaven, wishing a great harvest for people. Today, it’s more of a local park where local Beijing people come to relax. You can also choose to visit in the morning when you will see a lot of people exercising. Next, you will set off to the Beijing Hutong. It’s not a sight, but the alley where old Beijing people used to live in. You will see the real life of Beijing ordinaries there.

At the end of the tour, your guide and driver will accompany safely to the airport so you can take the second flight.
